Problem Discovery

Hydration is crucial for athletic performance and health, yet many athletes struggle with it, leading to serious risks. Endurance sports like trail running and cycling see significant dehydration due to intense physical activity. Despite its importance, proper hydration is often neglected due to a lack of knowledge. This project aims to bridge that gap by providing effective hydration strategies and tools, helping athletes stay hydrated and perform at their best.

User Survey

Let's dive deep into the trail running universe. Over the past two months, I spent significant time with two trail running clubs, "Trail Squad" and "SD Worx Trail Club," both of which I am a member. The scope of this research exercise is to closely understand the hydration routines of athletes of different levels, participating in short trails (5km-10km) and longer trails (over 10km). I gather a series of data during their training sessions and during competition time.
